Pineappple Lace Glass Holder

This is the pineapple lace design I adapted for a glass holder. I made a similar pattern almost a decade ago, this pattern is better and easier to understand with a photo chart. Finished size is also taller in height.

 I used our local size 8 cotton thread and 1.75mm hook. 

Finished size can be adjusted by changing weight of thread and size of hook.

Materials
Cannon or Monaco cotton thread, size 8 (can be substituted with size 10 thread), one ball, 40gm (one ball will make 3 glass holders)
Crochet hook size 1.75mm
Yarn needle to weave in ends
Finished size: about 4.25 inches across top, 4.75 inches tall, measured flat

Pattern
(Note: Ch 3 at the beg of rnds counts as dc.)
Start with an adjustable ring, or ch 4, sl st in 1st ch to form a ring,
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 19 dc in ring, join with sl st to beginning ch 3. (20 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 6 (counts as tr and ch 2), (tr in next dc, ch 2) rep around, join with sl st on top of beg ch 4. (20 tr with ch-2 space in between)
Rnd 3: Sl st in next ch-2 space, ch 1, sc in same space, (ch 3, sc in next ch-2 space) rep around, sl st in the 1st sc to join. (20 ch-3 loops)
Rnd 4: Sl st in next loop, ch 1, sc in same loop, (ch 3, sc in next ch-3 loop) rep around, sl st in the 1st sc to join. (20 ch-3 loops)
Rnd 5: Sl st in next loop, ch 3, 2 dc in same loop, (3 dc in next loop) rep around, join . (20 groups of 3-dc)
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in same st, (ch 3, skip 2 dc, sc in next dc) rep around, sl st in the 1st sc to join. (20 ch-3 loops)
Rnd 7: repeat rnd 5.

Rnd 8: repeat rnd 6. (Refer to photo diagram below for rnds 1-11)

Rnd 9: Ch1, (sc in next loop, ch 2, 2 dc in same loop) rep around, ending with sl st on the 1st sc.
Rnd 10: Sl st on next 2 chs, ch 1 (sc in-between the ch-2 and the next dc, ch 4, skip 2 dc, sc in-between the ch-2 and the next dc, ch 3, skip 2 dc) rep around, join.
Rnd 11: Sl st to the 1st ch-4 space, ch 3, (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same space, ch 1, [skip the next ch-3 space, in the next ch-4 space, make 7 dc with ch 1 in-between, ch 1, skip the next ch-3 space. (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch-4 space, ch 1] repeat around, join. (5 pattern repeats)
Rnd 12: Sl st to the ch-1 space, ch 3, (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same space, ch 1, [(sc, ch 3) in each ch-1 sp between the next 7 dc (making a total of 5 ch-3 loops), ch 1, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch-1 space, ch 1] repeat around, join.
Rnd 13: Sl st to the ch-1 space, ch 3, (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same space, [ch 1, sc in next ch-3 loop, (ch 3, sc, in next ch-3 loop) 4 times, ch 1, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch-1 space] repeat around, join.
Rnd 14: Sl st to the ch-1 space, ch 3, (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same space, [ch 1, sc in next ch-3 loop, (ch 3, sc, in next ch-3 loop) 3 times, ch 1, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch-1 space] repeat around, join.
Rnd 15: Sl st to the ch-2 space, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same space [ch 1, sc in next ch-3 loop, (ch 3, sc, in next ch-3 loop) 2 times, ch 1, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 space] repeat around, join.
Rnd 16: Sl st to the ch-2 space, ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2 dc in same space, ch 1,  (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc)  in next ch-2 space [ch 1, sc in next ch-3 loop, ch 3, sc, in next ch-3 loop,  ch 1, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch-2 space, ch 1, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch-2 space] repeat around, join.

Rnd 17: Sl st to the ch-1 space, ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2 dc in same space, ch 2, 2 hdc in next ch-1 space, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc)  in next ch-1 space [ch 2, sc in ch-3 loop, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch-1 space, ch 2, 2 hdc in ch-1 space, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch-1 space] repeat around, join.
Rnd 18: Sl st to the ch-1 space, ch 3, (dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in same space, (ch 2, sc in next ch-2 space) twice, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc)  in next ch-1 space [skip the next ch-2 sc and ch-2, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc)  in next ch-2 space, (ch 2, sc in next ch-2 space) twice, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc)  in next ch-2 space] repeat around, join.
Rnd 19: Sl st to the ch-1 space, ch 1, sc in same space, (ch 3, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, sc in next ch-space) repeat around, join.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
