Just some thoughts... and a borrowed poem

I pondered a bit what to write today, since I dont have yet a finished project to blog about. I dont want my site to bore me when I view it a least once a day, thinking maybe others who come back to my site also get disappointed...hehe (I pretend I have a lot of viewers.) So I go over my favorite books and try to find something to share that suits my mood...

I've Dreamed Many Dreams - Anonymous poet

I've dreamed many dreams that never came true,
I've seen them vanished at dawn;
But I've realized enough of my dreams, thank God,
To make me want to dream on.

I've prayed many prayers when no answer came,
I've waited patient and long,
But answers have come to enough of my prayers
To make me keep praying on.

I've trusted many a friend who failed
And left me to weep alone;
But I've found enough of my friends true
To make me keep trusting on

I've sown many seeds that fell by the way
For the birds to feed upon;
But I've held enough golden shaves in my hand,
To make me keep sowing on.

I've drained the cup of disappointment and pain,
I've gone many days without a song,
But I've sipped enough nectar from the rose of life
To make me want to live on.

Cloche cap progress

Here's the finished crown - up to row 19 of the pattern. I finally figured out the braid stitch, here's the close-up pic. Now on to the brim (rows 20-29).

Back to school and rainy days...

School just started here, my two sons are in school now - one in college, the other one in high school. I stay at home and I blog and view other people's blogs, haha. That is, in between housework and crochet, going to the grocery and driving my younger son to and from school. The rainy season here has also just begun and I dread the floods that could cause hours of traffic especially on afternoon rush hours...

Cotton Thread Cloche

Most of my projects use mercerized crochet cotton which is readily available here. And since yarns are not suited for our usual warm weather, cotton is a favorite material for wearing. So I was delighted to find this cloche pattern. This is my second attempt to make the cloche cap:

My Stash

Hi to all yarn addicts alike! Now I'm an official yarn (and thread) addict myself.
I can say I belong to the group because: 1. Even if I have a lot of stash, I think I "need" more; 2. I'm as much pleased in seeing my stash as in seeing my finished projects; 3. I envy seeing other crafter's stash; and, 4. I'll never steal but I might soon beg for more yarns and threads...

Beautiful Threads and Buttons

Last year, my dear sister-in-law Carmen, sent me these together with a lot of other stuff from Australia. Now I thought, here's a chance for me to show off these beautiful threads and buttons and to tell her how much I appreciate having it! Right now, I dont know yet what to make of it though. I'm sure I'll come up with something cute other than what I've made so far - several lipbalm holders, and this is the only one remaining.
