I also want to show the Nizza Tunic WIP, I'm now working up towards the waist part. Here it is before I frogged it...I realized I only had 11 sections of dcs, when I looked at the picture on the pattern, there were 12 :p But just to show you how it looks like at the bottom part. The motifs are lovely, but it was such a chore to join motifs and weave in ends. I'm glad that part is over ;)

Stylish Crochet Hobo Bag

Finished at last! Can't believe it took so long - its just a small bag :p
I finished crocheting the rest of it (about 20%) in one day, attached the magnetic snaps, and sewed the cotton fabric lining (all by hand) :D
I found a nice piece of fabric in my stash...and only now did I realize I could even use the bag inside out, cool!

Crochet WIP update

My ravelympics bag is nowhere near the finish line yet...but I haven't given up, and I've been cheering for myself :p
Just yesterday, I changed my course and decided to work up a different look for my stylish bag. If it works out I'd name it stylish hobo bag - since I derived it from the stylish sack. Its a little smaller than most hobos, but it will carry more than just essentials.
Hmm...this doesn't seem to look good, but I have a few ideas in mind that might make it interesting...



Now, for the Nizza tunic progress was slow. But work will probably be faster when I finish the motif rows. So far, here's 3 motif rows done:



Each row has 15 motifs, and the 4th row will be half motifs. It measures 40" around, a little big for me...

(Btw, the baby photo came from one of those forwarded emails. Just thought I'd use it, and if anyone objects let me know...)

Some Progress...

On my crochet WIPs:
My sack bag is about 20% done, I am calculating how slow I've been working on it...and seems I won't be able to finish it as a Ravelympic project, but I'll try.



I seem to be more inclined to work on the Nizza tunic. I've already laboriously frogged the old bag project, since I have set my mind to make the tunic in brown.



I would surely run out of thread - probably need a total of about 6 balls...but I could easily order some more ;)
I finished rnd 1 or the first round of motifs (15 motifs joined in a circle). The motif only has 3 rounds, so its very easy to memorize. After making the first motif, make the succeeding motifs same way, except connect it to the previous motif.




For those of you who want to try making a wearable, or working with thread for the first time, this isn't as hard as you may think. Except maybe for the sewing of the sleeves - which you have to be brave enough to try.
So, if anyone want to crochet along with me let me know...

Crochet Updates

At last, I have an update on my website! Its been a year since I last showed my projects there. You've already seen most of it, but might have missed something too ;)

For a WIP update, here's the latest. Its another one of my previous bag design. I want it in a light beige color, and I'm going to combine Catania yarn and Cannon thread.
I signed this up for the Ravelympics, so I'd have to finish it within the time frame. The challenge for me with this bag, is that all the hdc sts are much harder on the hand and take longer to finish. I chose the hdc only because it looks a lot better than dc stitches.

Then...I didn't have anything else in mind to start on, till I saw this:



Its a free pattern from a talented designer, Martina from Czech Republic. It is so pretty, and I can use my Cannon threads :)
Well I haven't started on it yet - I'm still frogging a discarded bag project so I can use the brown thread. Its a slow process - since I've crocheted 3 strands of thread together :p

Cute Tawashi crochet patterns

I now have 3 tawashi/scrubbie designs!
I simply named it cute tawashi designs...thanks to a good deal of inspiration and help from Chie. You can see her tawashi projects here.

Before I show all three, look here what I did with the Handy Tawashi pattern - I made some Handy coasters ;)

I made some using carpet yarn, it works well for dishwashing, esp. the flower scrubbie. I use the hand scrubbie to buff my nails to make it shiny ;)
Btw, the coasters were made with regular worsted weight yarn, crocheted with two strands held together.
