Selling on Etsy

I've been thinking of selling on Etsy for quite a long time, now finally I put up my shop! It took me the whole day to make a sort of banner, bio and profile :p Listing an item also takes a lot of time and effort, if you're doing it the first time. I only have one item listed for now and its my poinsettia pattern. I still have to decide what other items I'll be selling there.
One thing I just realized is that I'm going to incur more fees than what I had expected. Bank service charge is even higher than the Etsy fee! I think its a fixed fee per transaction, but I haven't checked. When I viewed my account online, it showed that amount paid to etsy.com NY is P44.14, while the service charge is P85.20 ($2.)!
However, I'm glad to know that I'm able to use my new debit card for paying, as I do not intend to get a credit card. I was sold on the usefulness of this card, since first of all it doesn't require a minimum maintaining balance. It looks like this, but now it has a Visa logo.

  1. Mimi, I don't know what the rules are in the Philippines, but I pay for my etsy fees through Paypal-you can also order a Paypal debit card/credit card and when you use it as a credit card, get a percentage off. My fees are automatically withdrawn from Paypal (Etsy sends a notification beforehand). Let me know if you need any help.

  2. EON is really helpful! I'm just not sure how much does it cost per transaction if you're going to use EON on transactions but I must admit that it's really helpful plus this is the only way that we can accept payment through Paypal. Which reminds me that I still have to ask my friend to renew my card because she used it for ordering items from Japan all the time for a year now.

  5. Thanks all, I do think I need to have good luck on Etsy...

Yes Jinky, but I think that not all debit cards are the same, the EON card has the Visa logo, so it is recognized anywhere.
