I'm back ;)

Most of you might not have heard, a strong typhoon hit our city (the whole metro-manila and nearby provinces). The winds were the strongest in 20 years! It didnt last for long, but it left a lot of trees, billboards and electric posts fallen. Some places were flooded and there were landslides. The death toll was small compared to other destructive typhoons...but we got no electricity for 4 whole days!
It was really weird and unexpected. I felt like we went on vacation to a remote place, and now we're back!
(borrowed pic)

Everyone I know was safe, but it is sad that some people died because they were hit by a billboard that collapsed, or were electrocuted, or buried in landslides... These were the people who didnt have real houses, or those who didnt stay home or took extra precaution inspite of the typhoon signal.

  10. Thank you so much to all of you for your kind words =)
The weathermen said there might be another destructive typhoon this year. Hopefully we'll be safe from that as well...

  11. Oh No! I didn't hear about this, either. I'm so glad you are all right!!! I have been busy watching the news in our area and when that part is over, I'm off finishing whatever it is I am doing... Thank goodness you are all right and power is back on.

  12. Thank you, Tina =)
I have been patient enough waiting for the power to come, thinking that other people suffered worse because of the typhoon...

  13. I read about it today! I know exactly how it is to be in the middle of disaster such as this. I experienced a tornado in Oklahoma, and Katrina here last year... I'm just so glad you are ok!!!

  14. Thanks, Chie! Luckily, it isnt as devastating here as those you mentioned you had there. But to be without electricity for 4 whole days can somewhat be miserable...

  15. Yeah I'm also glad your 4-day experience is over. Too bad there were senseless casualties elsewhere in the cities. I don't miss typhoons but I certainly miss you. =)

  16. You know Sis, I really wished you were here during that typhoon Milenyo, coz you can think of some fun way to spend time with us...like hmm...shopping, eating out, hiking, or playing boardgames with Tops.
...I kept sane by listening to Radio Veritas, and by crocheting of course ;)
