I made this doily just in time for valentines ;)
I picked out a pattern from CPC, its the Victorian Rose Doily (pdf).
Its also the same rose doily here.
I managed to make my own design for the leaf, I like it better this way.
The finished doily center is about 5 1/4" diameter and the rose is about 2".
Materials used: crochet cotton size 8 for the doily and roses, 6-strand embroidery floss for the leaves, 1.75mm steel hook.
Here's another valentine doily.

Gorgeous doily!!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG! That's gorgeous, Mimi!! I love it. I have made a few (similar) doilies to this, but they are square, or I've even made runners, too. I bought one at a 'country store' in Michigan, years ago, took it home, and copiedit. I'll have to take a picture on my digital camera. If I even have this doily with me. I know I have a picture of it though. Anyway, yours is beautiful. All those roses and leaves are a lot of work, aren't they? But worth it in the end. It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteoh my - that is a beautiful doily Mimi.
