More Scrunchies and a Crocheted Strap

Aside from working on the diagrams of my designs, I made some small stuff that give me a sense of accomplishment.
Here are the scrunchies I made, I finished 7, and another one is almost done. I actually like all these colors, I plan to make more so I can keep some for myself ;)
(Previous scrunchies made are here.)

Again I modeled one. I love using cotton thread for this. I can wear it on my thin hair and it doesnt fall off ;)

This one is a thick strap done with one strand of Cannon cotton thread. Its 1.3meters long and I'm 1/2 done with its width. My son (the 16 yr. old) custom ordered it from me. I'll leave you to guess what this is for ;)

  1. Hmmm... I am racking my brain to guess what that strap is for, but I can't think of anything... I'll ask my son(s) and see what they think it is... :) Does he play any instruments that he would need a strap for, maybe? That would be my guess.

  2. Hmmm... I´m thinking too... Maybe to take a dog or cat out? To be a belt is just too long...

  3. Hi Mimi,
Kumusta na? I would like to make those scrunchies but I just had a haircut, my hair is too short right now. Maybe next year ~_^. I'm guessing the strap is for a guitar.

  4. Hi Tina, Vik and Beth! Thanks for stopping by :D
Tina, you were on the right track ;)
Vik, it was fun making you guess :P
Beth, of course you're right! You are a musical family, I suppose, since your son is very good on the piano.
My son wanted to have his own electric guitar, but we couldnt afford it yet :(
A friend of his let him borrow one, and he asked me to make a strap for it!

  9. Thanks Jaye!
I'm hoping that it turns out what my son expects it to, since I've not seen a guitar strap closely, and I didnt have a pattern to guide me :p

  15. This is probably a silly question to a seasoned crocheter. Doe the beads get strung on the end of the yarn to be used, then moved up when it's time to use one in the pattern? I love these and want to make one for my granddaughter but could not figure out how you would otherwise get the beads to where they they are needed. Sorry to sound dense.

  16. Hi, yes you string the beads first. It is part of the written instructions in the pattern:
